PIA Winners Announced! - 2011 Marksman wins coveted Certificate of Merit.
The Printing Industries of America, Premier Print Awards is the world’s largest, most prestigious international publishing competition with a total of more than 2700 entries across all forms of publishing. The criterion for the competition is based solely on the overall look of the publication (the quality of photography, design expertise, printing and binding quality); this award above all is one that belongs to the publisher as well as the client.
Jostens received 11 out of a total of 16 awards in the School Yearbook Category for 2011. This includes 9 certificates of merit, 1 Award of Recognition, and the coveted Best of Category-Benny.
We wish to congratulate North Texas' own Ray Westbrook and the 2011 Marksman staff for winning the prestigious PIA Certificate of Merit.
The Best of Category (BENNY):
- AEGIS 2010, DARTMOUTH COLLEGE (Matt Clark) Third year in a row for this Jostens school!

The “Benny” or the “Best of Category” award; only one is given each year in each category. This is followed by the (first place) Award of Recognition, 2% of all entries, then the (second place) Certificate of Merit, 5% of all entries. Any award from PIA is a great achievement as they will give no award if there are no entries that meet very stringent judging.
