North Texas Jostens–Summer Journalism Workshop

Monday-Wednesday, June 17-19, 2019

Texas Woman’s University | Denton, Texas

A great yearbook covers the people, personalities and events that make this year unique and unforgettable. As journalists, you capture what happens in the NOW so it lives on forever. Future generations will look back on your work and the stories you tell and say they wish they were a part of it.

HERE is where you get started. These three days are crucial to creating the best book your school has ever seen. Planning revolves around building and layering an innovative concept for your publication; uncovering fresh ideas and angles for inclusive coverage; discovering a new voice in your writing; and incorporating content-driven graphic design.

Join US as at the Jostens North Texas Summer Journalism workshop. Our instructors will present the hottest trends followed up with the personal attention you want and deserve.

Staff members in the YEARBOOK TRACK will work together as a team to brainstorm the theme, coverage and content with hands-on time to implement those ideas. Emphasis will be placed on working together to create a meaningful book for the student body, as well as getting everything in place for an easier start to the school year. They will leave with cover, endsheets, title/parting pages, opening/closing spreads, dividers and graphics to strengthen the theme’s verbal-visual impact.
